Traditional Construction Trades Are Facing A Revolution

FBR, based in WA, have quietly been developing their Hadrian X robotic technology.

They have combined 3D printing with robotics to create an autonomous bricklayer.

A three bedroom brick house can be constructed in just one day. Hadrian X doesn’t take tea breaks and can work throughout the night.

The technology avoids some of the usual WHS hazards faced by ‘brickies’ including:

  • Manual handling;
  • Working from scaffolding;
  • Falls from a height;
  • Exposure to cement (inhalation and contact with);
  • Extreme weather;
  • Inhalation of silica dust.

The outside use of robotics is new and innovative, but it does have some workplace risks. (Internal link)
